Supex SD-901E

The Supex SD-901E comes from the workshop that helped found the Japanese MC school and now ranks as collectible. Its 2 mV output works into a standard MM phono input without extra gain. The elliptical stylus tracks from 1.5 to 2.0 g by specification. The stylus is integrated, so a worn diamond means a retip.

Additional Info

The Supex SD-901E presents a detailed, spacious character where sharp imaging and lively dynamics give vocals a natural, present quality. Control feels precise rather than lush, rewarding jazz and acoustic material on resolving systems that prize transparency. The elliptical stylus is integrated, so once worn only a retip is possible.
