Supex SD-801 Excel E

The Supex SD-801 Excel E comes from the workshop that helped found the Japanese MC school. Its high 3.5 mV output feeds a standard MM phono input without a transformer. The elliptical stylus tracks from 1.0 to 3.0 g with 2.0 g nominal. The stylus is integrated, so a worn diamond means a retip.

Additional Info

The Supex SD-801 Excel E is a refined, natural-sounding MC that favors coherence over aggression. Imaging comes precise, vocals sound notably organic, and bass stays firm rather than heavy, adding up to a balanced, non-fatiguing presentation for jazz, acoustic and vocal records. The elliptical stylus is integrated, so only retipping is possible when worn.
