Stanton 680EL
The Stanton 680EL continues the American maker's studio 680 series at the entry level. This MM cartridge pairs an elliptical stylus with a 5 mV output for any standard MM phono input. Its light 0.75 to 1.5 g tracking force with 1.0 g nominal is gentle on records. The replaceable stylus is the D6800EL, and Phono Culture lists 2 compatible replacement styli.
The Stanton 680EL is built for everyday reliability rather than analytical precision. Modest tracing control smooths over surface noise and rough pressings instead of exposing them, bass stays a touch soft, and vocals keep a pleasant, easy character. Less-than-perfect vinyl, DJ duty and forgiving club or home setups fit it naturally. The elliptical D6800EL stylus is replaceable, keeping service quick.
