Shure SC35C

The Shure SC35C spent decades as a workhorse for DJs and radio stations. This MM cartridge pairs a conical stylus with a 5 mV output for any standard MM phono input. Its heavy 4.0 to 5.0 g tracking force with 4.5 g nominal keeps the stylus seated through rough handling. The replaceable stylus is the SS35S, and Phono Culture lists 4 compatible replacement styli.

Additional Info

The Shure SC35C, also sold as the SS35C, is a broadcast and DJ workhorse tuned for tolerance over precision. Low compliance and heavier tracking force keep it steady through rough handling and heavy tonearms, giving a forgiving, warm ride over scuffed records. Vocals stay natural and full-bodied, dynamics lively, while fine detail and pinpoint imaging take a back seat. The conical stylus is replaceable, practical for club and radio duty.
