[Test Note] Check Empire 2000E/III on my setup
Sanyo MG-29
The Sanyo MG-29 was made by the Japanese brand for mass market budget turntables. This MM cartridge pairs a conical stylus with a 4.2 mV output for any standard MM phono input. Tracking force is allowed from 1.0 to 3.0 g with 2.0 g nominal. The replaceable stylus is the ST-29D, and Phono Culture lists 3 compatible replacement styli.
The Sanyo MG-29 leans toward a forgiving, easygoing presentation rather than forensic detail retrieval. Vocals come through with reasonably natural warmth, bass stays soft-edged and imaging modest, so the cartridge never dissects a mix but never fatigues either. Casual listening with older records on budget-friendly setups where tracking ease matters most fits it well. The stylus is replaceable as the ST-29D.
