SAE 1000e
The SAE 1000e is a high output MC cartridge in the upper mid range class. Its 2.5 mV output plugs into a standard MM phono input without a transformer. The nude elliptical stylus tracks from 1.5 to 2.1 g with 1.8 g nominal. The replaceable stylus is the 1000E, and Phono Culture lists one compatible replacement for this model.

Additional Info
The SAE 1000e favors resolution and stereo precision over warmth or forgiveness. Vocals come through natural and grain-free, bass stays reasonably tight rather than plush, and the sense of space is well-defined without becoming clinical. Well-aligned tables and revealing systems bring out its best on jazz, acoustic and vocal records. The stylus is replaceable, a rare convenience for an MC design.
