[Test Note] Check Empire 2000E/III on my setup
SAE 1000 LT
The SAE 1000 LT is a high output MC cartridge in the audiophile class. Its 3.5 mV output plugs into a standard MM phono input without extra gain. The Line Contact stylus runs at a rated tracking force of 1.8 g. The stylus is integrated, so a worn diamond goes out for retipping.
The SAE 1000 LT is detailed and precise, with a resolved, well-controlled top end that keeps groove noise low and lets fine texture through cleanly. Imaging stays stable and layered, bass taut rather than plush, vocals natural without added warmth, while rough pressings get little mercy. Also known as the Adcom XC-LT of Crosscoil construction, it rewards acoustic, jazz and well-recorded rock on revealing systems. The stylus is integrated, so wear means a retip.
