Rega Elys
The Rega Elys shipped as stock on the British maker's turntables. This MM cartridge with an elliptical stylus works into a standard MM phono input. Rated tracking force is specified at 1.75 g. The stylus is fixed rather than user swappable, an unusual choice for MM, so a worn cartridge goes back to the maker or gets replaced.

The Rega Elys leans toward a forgiving, easygoing balance with natural, present vocals and solid dynamic punch rather than forensic detail. Imaging stays stable, bass carries decent weight, and modest systems with less-than-perfect pressings suit it comfortably. The elliptical tip handles varied genres without demanding surgical setup. The stylus is integrated, so once worn only a retip helps.
