Ortofon X3-MCP

The Ortofon X3-MCP is a high output MC cartridge in the upper mid range class. Its 2 mV output plugs into a standard MM phono input without a step up transformer. The Fine Line stylus tracks from 1.8 to 2.2 g with 2.0 g nominal. The stylus is integrated, so a worn diamond goes out for retipping.

Additional Info

The Ortofon X3-MCP is refined and articulate, with a natural midrange that lets vocals breathe convincingly. Its Fine Line tip resolves fine groove detail while the top end stays clean and controlled, and the soundstage holds stable, precisely layered focus. Reasonably tight bass suits acoustic, jazz and vocal material on revealing systems. The stylus is integrated, so once worn only a retip restores it.
