Ortofon MC30 Super
The Ortofon MC30 Super ranks among the most respected Danish MC cartridges of its era. Its low 0.2 mV output calls for a dedicated MC phono input or a step up transformer. The Fine Line stylus rides the groove at 1.8 to 2.2 g with 2.0 g nominal. The stylus is integrated, so a worn diamond means a retip.
The Ortofon MC30 Super offers a refined, articulate presentation where the Fine Line stylus of the FG II profile traces detail and texture cleanly. Vocals come natural and present within a stable, well-organized stage, bass stays lean but controlled, and dynamics feel lively without harshness. Acoustic, jazz and vocal records on resolving turntables suit it best. The stylus is integrated, so only retipping cures wear.
