Ortofon MC10 Super

The Ortofon MC10 Super opens the Danish MC lineup at the mid range level. Its low 0.3 mV output requires a dedicated MC phono input or a step up transformer. The nude elliptical stylus tracks from 1.3 to 1.8 g with 1.5 g nominal. The stylus is integrated, so a worn diamond means a retip.

Additional Info

The Ortofon MC10 Super renders airy, well-separated detail through its nude elliptical tip, holding a wide, stable stereo image. Vocals come across natural and slightly forward, dynamics feel lively yet controlled, and background noise stays low for jazz, acoustic and vocal records on mid to high resolving systems. The stylus is integrated, so wear sends the cartridge out for a retip.
