Numark Groove Tool

The Numark Groove Tool was built by the DJ brand for hard booth duty. This MM cartridge pairs a conical stylus with a 2.4 mV output level. Its heavy 2.5 to 3.5 g tracking force keeps the needle seated during scratching. The replaceable stylus is the GTRS, and Phono Culture lists 4 compatible replacement styli.

Additional Info

The Numark Groove Tool is built for practical play, not critical listening. Its sphere-shaped stylus keeps trackability easy and glosses over surface noise and imperfect setup, while fine detail and imaging stay modest and the top end softens rather than sparkles. Vocals sit pleasant and rounded over grooving bass, right for DJ use, scratching and casual spinning. The stylus is replaceable, and the design is often cited as a rebrand of the Chuo Denshi MG-09D.
