Nagaoka MP-100
The Nagaoka MP-100 is an entry-level MM cartridge with a conical stylus profile and 5 mV output, so it feeds any standard MM phono input without extra gain. Rated tracking force runs from 1.8 to 2.3 g with a nominal setting of 2.0 g. Its stylus is user replaceable and carries the JN-P100 designation. Phono Culture lists three compatible replacement styli for this model.
The Nagaoka MP-100 is a forgiving, easygoing MM with an aluminum cantilever and a conical tip. Vocals come through with natural warmth and body, dynamics feel lively rather than aggressive, while detail and imaging stay modest and unfussy, smoothing over surface noise and tired pressings. The stylus is replaceable, so a fresh tip is a simple fix. It makes a relaxed, musical match for vocal jazz, folk and classic rock on modest to mid-tier systems.
