Lyra Skala
The Lyra Skala is hand assembled by the Japanese high end workshop. Its low 0.56 mV output requires a dedicated MC phono input or a step up transformer. The Line Contact stylus works in a narrow tracking window of 1.65 to 1.85 g with 1.75 g nominal. The stylus is integrated, so a worn diamond means a retip.
The Lyra Skala pairs a titanium body with Lyra's patented asymmetric suspension design. Its Line Contact profile keeps extended contact with the groove walls, digging deep into recorded detail and holding distortion low toward the inner grooves, which in turn asks for careful alignment and clean records. The stylus is integrated, with retips handled by the manufacturer or specialists such as SoundSmith and ExpertStylus.
