Goldring Elektra
The Goldring Elektra opens the British maker's range at the entry level. This MM cartridge pairs an elliptical stylus with a high 7 mV output for any standard MM phono input. Rated tracking force runs from 1.5 to 2.0 g with 1.7 g nominal. The replaceable stylus is the D152E, and Phono Culture lists one compatible replacement.
The Goldring Elektra brings an easygoing, forgiving character with natural, warm vocal presence and confident dynamics that keep rhythm engaging without turning aggressive. Imaging and scene layering hold solid rather than surgical, a relaxed companion for jazz, rock and vocal records on modest to mid systems. The elliptical stylus is replaceable as the D152E, and the discontinued model found its successor in the Goldring E3.
