[Test Note] Check Empire 2000E/III on my setup
Goldring E2
The Goldring E2 works as an entry-level MM cartridge fitted with a conical stylus profile. Its output of 3.5 mV suits the standard MM input of virtually any phono stage. Rated tracking force runs from 1.5 to 2.5 g, with 2.0 g given as the nominal setting. The stylus is user replaceable and carries the code GL0057, and the Phono Culture database lists two compatible replacement styli for this model.
The Goldring E2 is a genuinely easygoing MM that leans forgiving rather than forensic. Vocals come through natural and unforced, imaging holds together nicely, and the spherical tip smooths over rough pressings instead of digging into flaws. Dynamics feel lively enough for casual listening across pop, rock and jazz on modest turntables. The replaceable stylus and aluminum cantilever keep upkeep painless.
