[Test Note] Check Empire 2000E/III on my setup
Goldring 2100
The Goldring 2100 is a moving iron MI design of entry level class with an elliptical stylus profile. Its healthy 6.5 mV output suits the standard MM input of any phono stage without extra gain. Rated tracking force runs from 1.5 to 2.0 g with a nominal setting of 1.75 g. The GL2100/STY stylus unplugs for replacement, and Phono Culture lists three compatible styli for this model.
The Goldring 2100 is a forgiving, easygoing MI cartridge whose elliptical stylus favors natural, relaxed vocals over aggressive detail. Imaging and dynamics hold solid without turning clinical, bass stays controlled rather than heavy, and tracking treats worn pressings gently. Jazz, vocal and classic rock on modest to mid-tier turntables fit it well. The stylus is replaceable, and the threaded body with gold-plated pins eases installation.
