[Test Note] Check Empire 2000E/III on my setup
ELAC STS 344
The ELAC STS 344 belongs to the German MM lineup with a conical stylus. Its very high 11 mV output easily drives any standard MM phono input. Rated tracking force runs from 1.0 to 2.0 g by specification. The replaceable stylus is the D 344-17, and Phono Culture lists 3 compatible replacement styli.
The ELAC STS 344 is a warm, forgiving MM with natural vocal presence that favors easy, non-fatiguing listening over forensic detail. Bass keeps decent density and dynamics feel lively without turning aggressive, kind to older pressings and modest systems. The housing wears the white series marking. Its spherical stylus is replaceable at wear, which keeps the cartridge in service cheaply.
