Dynavector Karat 23R
The Dynavector Karat 23R belongs to the house Karat series with its short diamond cantilever. Its low 0.2 mV output requires a dedicated MC phono input or a step up transformer. The hyperelliptical stylus tracks from 1.2 to 1.8 g with 1.5 g nominal. The stylus is integrated, so a worn diamond means a retip.
The Dynavector Karat 23R renders voices with striking naturalness. Its ruby cantilever and hyperelliptical polish deliver a grain-free, articulate midrange with tight tracking through complex passages, while precise, layered staging and quiet low-level resolution let decay and texture breathe. Controlled rather than weighty bass suits acoustic and small-ensemble recordings on resolving systems. The stylus is integrated, and wear sends it out for retipping.
