[Test Note] Check Empire 2000E/III on my setup
Acos M7
The Acos M7 was made as an entry level MM cartridge with a conical stylus. Its 1 mV output runs well below typical MM levels, which matters when pairing a phono stage. Rated tracking force spans 1.5 to 2.5 g with 2.0 g nominal. The replaceable stylus is the M-7, and Phono Culture lists 5 compatible replacement styli.
The Acos M7 delivers a forgiving, gentle character built around smooth top-end restraint and easygoing tracking, so worn or noisy pressings sound softened rather than harsh. Bass carries decent body and warmth, vocals stay natural without forward edge, while fine detail and imaging precision take a back seat. Casual listening with older records on modest systems is its element. The conical stylus is user-replaceable, so wear stays a small expense.
