[Test Note] Check Empire 2000E/III on my setup
ADC K8E
The ADC K8E belongs to the American maker's budget line and uses an IM generator. Its 5.8 mV output feeds any standard MM phono input. The elliptical stylus tracks from 1.5 to 3.0 g with 2.25 g nominal. The replaceable stylus is the RK8E, and Phono Culture lists 2 compatible replacement styli.
The ADC K8E carries a smooth, forgiving character with a warm, natural midrange where vocals come through easy and unforced rather than clinical. Bass keeps moderate density, dynamics feel lively without aggression, and serviceable rather than pinpoint imaging suits less-than-perfect pressings on budget to mid systems. Jazz, vocal records and casual sessions reward the relaxed listen. The elliptical stylus is replaceable when worn.
